Motorola Solutions was the Diamond Sponsor of the IET Wireless Symposium 2023. Organized by the Electronics and Communications Section of the Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong, the event was held at the Regal Kowloon Hotel on 12 June 2023.

Addressing the theme of this year’s symposium – “Heading Towards a Sustainable and Connected Smart City Under the New Normal” – Wee Teck Siow, Pre-Sales Consultant for Motorola Solutions Asia-Pacific, spoke about “Sustainable Two-Way Radio Communications for Connected Smart City with Cloud Technology”. 

During the talk, Wee Teck shared the benefits for government and public safety organizations to deploy Motorola Solutions’ CirrusCentral Management, the ASTRO P25 compliant, cloud-based core and management solutions. 

Wee Teck explained that in the post-COVID new normal, there are new demands for two-way radio systems to be accessible and manageable from anywhere, increasing the need for remote tools. Cloud technology improves the sustainability of two-way radio communications by enabling the transition from an on-premise to a cloud-based solution that supports resource sharing, as well as remote access and management.
