Jolly: 80% of US officers patrol alone in the field, so having these tools that enhance situational awareness and reliable voice communication is like having an alert partner and keeps officers safer.

Jo: These past 3 years, we’ve done a lot of research on adding video and providing an end-to-end solution — from capturing what’s happening in the field, to how emergency calls are picked up, to analyzing the collected video and data. The collection, integration and analysis of voice, video, and data at all points is very powerful. This is something unique that we can offer our North Asia customers. Taiwan is a key market for us. Last year we were awarded an ASTRO contract with Taiwan’s National Police Agency, which was Motorola’s second largest. Japan is a country with well over 5 million CCTV cameras. Our solutions can help them integrate and make use of that video data.
